If you do not wash your face regularly, you will have a buildup of dead skin that you cannot see but will irritate your face. Some people shed their dead skin more frequently than others or in an irregular manner. Again, washing your face and occasionally using a scrub to remove the dead skin will help to treat and prevent acne.

Bacteria

Foreign particles and bacteria on your skin can worsen acne or cause it to develop. Toxins in the air and unpurified water can irritate the sensitive skin on the face. However, it is more likely that it is something like makeup that will clog the pores and cause acne. In addition to washing regularly, avoid makeup to help clear up the acne. You may be using it to hide it, but it is only making things worse. Even limiting your makeup use to every other day can make a big difference. After a while, you may notice that you don't even need it.

Stress

When you are stressed, the body produces extra hormones to provide energy and instigate the "fight or flight" response. However, all those extra hormones can wreak havoc on your acne. Unfortunately, you cannot simply eliminate all the stress from your life, but you can take action when you are stressed. To avoid a flare up, take extra special care of your skin when you know you are under more pressure than usual.

Diet

While it is a myth that greasy foods will result in an oily face, it is true that your diet has a great impact on your skin. An overall healthier diet will allow all of your skin to glow and look healthy. The most important thing to remember is to drink lots of water. When you are fully hydrated, your body cleanses itself from the inside out. If you are even a little dehydrated, your delicate skin is missing some of the nutrients it needs and appears dull. In addition, the deeper layers of the skin that you cannot reach with cleansers and wipes end up neglected.
